Our Favorites for This Cabin
If you're looking for ideas for what to do near this cabin, here are some of our picks:

Favorite Almost-Anyone-Can-Do-This Hiking
Less than 30 minutes away, Sky Bridge Arch is a well-known, easy-access arch overlook that is accessible to those who can't walk far or handle difficult terrain. But there are a cluster of other, unmarked trails nearby for the adventurous.

Hit up Creation Falls for some refreshing time near water. This easy, beginner 1.5 mile hike provides a place to wade in the water and relax on the sandy beach. Exploring these places together is so much fun, and most folks of any age can do this.

Favorite
Rough Trail Hiking
There are miles of logging roads onsite (literally out your back door and open for your exploration), but Red Byrd Arch is the nearest trail (only a five minute drive away). This unmarked, often-missed, in-and-out trail is less than five miles in total and has a fun, final descent. It's a go-to if I have less than an hour and want to get some real trail time.

Favorite Local Restaurant
For a dining experience less than 20 minutes away, we have enjoyed gourmet hot dogs with live music, game nights, and 4th of July fireworks at Sky Bridge Station in Pine Ridge. They have local draft beer if that's your thing. The ice cream shop across the street has yummy dessert and signature local pottery for sale.

Favorite Meal (and Place for People Watching)
The Beef Brisket pizza dough sandwich at Miguel's Pizza is my (Jeff's) personal favorite. And you get all the awesomeness of the experience at iconic Miguel's Pizza. It's just under 30 minutes away. Plus you get to hang around all kinds of quirky, fun people. Climbers are the BEST! Order online to avoid a wait: https://www.miguelspizza.com/

Nearby Paddling
For a lake paddling experience, check out Wolfe Lake just 10 minutes away. There are signs saying "No swimming" but . . . you might find locals enjoying the jumping rock. Just sayin'.
We haven't paddled the Red River (yet), but here's info for those interested: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/dbnf/recarea/?recid=64846
